Louise Grays’ second presentation at the Portico Rooms was met with a buzz of party people wanting in on the action. Gray’s fun designs derived from her Trompe l’oeil style of design were by no means a disappointment. Her designs have become slightly more introverted since last season, concentrating on more muted colours and mixing prints. Her collection still screams of 90’s nostalgia, but in a subtler manner. Gray’s outlook seems to have skewed slightly, with her inclusion of casual sportswear taking her designs in a new direction. Kudos to Gray for having the balls to stand up for what she believe in, sticking out like a sore thumb in an everlasting sea of fashion black.
