Nottingham’s Jake Bugg has announced his eponymously-titled debut album, set for release on 15th October on Mercury Records.
There’s been a LOT of hype around this young man which may or may not make you interested in him but there’s no doubting he’s got some serious songwriting chops on him. He’s played Later with Jools Holland, supported The Stone Roses and is about to jet off to the US to support Noel Gallagher. Not bad, huh? Oh and Radio 1 has a serious boner for him.
His debut album is 14 songs long but under 40 minutes. It opens with recent single “Lightning Bolt” and the new single “Two Fingers” follows. No doubt he’s going to be called the new Alex Turner/Bob Dylan pretty soon (or is it happening already?) but it’s nice to see some rowdy guitar and ballsy sounds making waves.
He’s got a truckload of live dates coming up so if you want to catch him then head over to www.jakebugg.com and see where he’s playing near you.
