For the next 16 Friday evenings head towards South East London as The Coronet Theatre in Elephant and Castle has something exceptional in store for you.

Together Season 1 is offering 3 rooms of eccentric music, visuals and entertainment, your musical palates will be inoffensively molested and you will be beseeching for all 16 weeks to be packed into 1 night. Never before has any London venue dared to provide so many different genres of music and artists under one roof. If the launch party which was held on Friday 12th March is anything to go by you will not be disappointed about sleeping through your Saturday afternoons.

Room 2 presented the bands; Union DJs, Lunar Youth, O Children and Ben Gomori provided live entertainment to the crowd. It was, however, South East London indie/electro ensemble My Tiger My Timing who gave the finest live performance. Lead by Anna Vincent’s astounding vocals, the group took to the stage with a heartfelt performance of their debut track ‘I Am the Sound’ and continued to provide the crowd with complete auditory pleasure throughout their performance.

Room 3 exhibited the best in up and coming UK DJs and turntable spinning. Kode9, Deep Teknologi, R1 Ryders, Mosca amongst others boasted the best in Dubstep. The room had a very zesty vibe to it and did not fail in keeping the mob entertained with both classic tracks as well as new ones, that we will no doubt be experiencing more of throughout the year.
The gem of the party however, was Room 1 where special guests Mylo, Tinie Tempah, Subfocus, Zombie Nation, Doorly and others had the partygoers in amazement and throwing all kinds shapes across the dance floor. Mylo was top quality; the ‘Drop the Pressure’ producer had the crowd spellbound with visuals that could only be described as a moving popup book on acid. His deep, dark, techno sounds brought pleasure to the 1000+ thick crowd and his occasional unpredicted choice to amuse the mass with 1980’s Prince tracks went down a treat. Tinie Tempah, who was added to the line up shortly after he hit the charts at No.1 with his debut track, approached the stage with the kind of excitement you could only imagine from a school boy who has just discovered he can use his manhood for more than just peeing. The crowd were briefly entertained with a sample of a track that carried a heavy baseline. This brought heaps of exuberance around the room before he gave them a vastly energised live performance of his eagerly anticipated track ‘Pass Out’.

Together Season 1 is more like what you would expect from a festival rather than a club night, minus the mud and smelly tent syndrome. Also a huge bonus is that the theatre offers four, fully staffed bars so queuing for a drink is not a long tedious chore and there is never a risk of missing your favourite act. This is an event not to be missed as there are many more special guests, DJs and bands in store over the next 16 weeks. It has something to please all musical tastes and will not disappoint, which makes it impossible to hate.
