Black Dog Books is an intriguing bookshop built within a railway arch off Rivington St, East London.

It’s a pop-up shop but in every sense. The shop has been constructed within another space, it’s a small cube in a railway arch and carries a wonderfully diverse range of fanzines and books, from children’s classics to art to fiction. The shop and it’s surroundings may just have their very own ghost as well, reportedly the spirit of 1930′s book dealer F.J Williams who seems to have a penchant for pushing books off shelves. He’s an active bugger as Disorder was nearly sconed by a novel that literally flew off its shelf as we stood at the back of the shop.

Black Dog Books’  facade and interior has been designed by Will Randall and Giles Walker, who have re-created a lovely, warm and slightly eccentric bookshop that comes armed with a sweetly chatty assistant who knows his stock backwards.

It won’t be there forever, so get there while you can.
